FAQs
Is it safe to drive without a locking wheel nut key?
Yes, but you won’t be able to remove the wheels if you get a puncture or visit a tyre shop. Always try to locate the key before you need it.
Can I buy a replacement from MINI?
Yes, but only if you have the locking bolt pattern ID. Without the original key, most dealerships will need to see the bolt in person to match it.
Do you offer bolt removal?
Yes — we have specialist tools to safely remove locking bolts without a key.
Are locking wheel bolts really necessary?
They do deter theft of alloy wheels, especially on high-spec models, but they’re not strictly essential — especially if you’re swapping for aftermarket bolts.
