MINI F55 One Servicing Costs – Small Engine, Big Expectations

The MINI F55 One is the entry-level petrol variant, powered by a 1.2-litre or later 1.5-litre 3-cylinder engine. While tuned for efficiency over performance, it shares many of the same design features — and faults — as the more powerful Cooper models. That means VANOS valve issues, camshaft reluctor faults, and carbon deposits are still a risk.

At The MINI (&BMW) Specialist in Great Bridge, we service the MINI One with the same care as we do for high-performance variants. Every service includes BMW LL-04 100% synthetic 5W30 oil, OE-quality filters, a full inspection, and fault code scan.

Why Trust Us With Your MINI F55 One?

Twin VANOS Checked

Oil control valves and actuator function are tested for proper timing operation — a known weakness on this engine family.

Camshaft Reluctor Issues

We inspect for camshaft alignment problems that trigger “Drivetrain Error” faults — this issue often requires full camshaft replacement.

Correct Fluids & Filters

We use only BMW-approved LL-04 5W30 oil and OE-spec filters to protect the engine and turbo where fitted.

Straightforward Pricing

Fixed-price MINI servicing with no surprises — parts, labour and VAT included.

MINI F55 One FAQs

Question Answer
What engine does the MINI One use? Early models used a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. Later versions were upgraded to a detuned 1.5-litre unit shared with the Cooper.
Are there any common faults? Yes — VANOS valve failure, camshaft reluctor movement, and carbon deposits are known issues. We check for all of these as standard.
How often should I service it? Every 10,000–12,000 miles or annually. Timely oil changes help protect the VANOS system and reduce camshaft wear.
Is it okay to remap this engine? We don’t recommend it — the MINI One engine is already working hard in factory trim. A remap can accelerate wear and reduce reliability.
Do you reset the service indicator? Yes — we reset the onboard computer and update your digital service log (if applicable) after every service.
